Third annual 'In the Loupe for a Cure' event at Gallery Loupe!
We are pleased to invite you to join us in supporting The Mathilda Fund, an inspirational project devoted to fighting and curing uring ovarian cancer.
In support of this effort, artists Meg Drinkwater and Erin Gardner of The Opulent Project studio have designed a Limited Edition sterling silver commemorative brooch/pendant at $195 each. As in the 2011 and 2012 brooch/pendants, the artists were challenged to interpret the ribbons. In this piece, the design represents the community of support that helps promote healing.
All proceeds will benefit the Fund.

Cancer survivor and Almost a Princess author shares her story at 92Y.
In Almost a Princess, Rubin, now 57, reflects on her life growing up in a secular Jewish home with a hard-nosed, but loving father; marrying her high school sweetheart at 19; raising three children as a divorced single parent; working in the healthcare field; remarrying in her forties; and becoming a grandmother, all with the wise insights gained from struggling with her own health challenges. At first, she wrote about her experiences as a therapeutic exercise, to gain self understanding as she faced down cancer, but, at the urging of family and friends, became determined to share the coping strategies she developed for herself with other survivors and their families.
Book signing follows the event. Half of all royalties from this publication will be donated to ovarian cancer research.
